Ashtanga Dispatch – Blog | Journal | Podcast
Ashtanga Dispatch was really just a name Jen René and I thought up over a cup of tea, as we dreamt up ways (some of them, silly) to share our love for the Ashtanga yoga practice and inspire others they way we are inspired. But make no mistake: Ashtanga Dispatch isn’t about a name, a logo, or a hashtag any more than this yoga practice is about poses or series – it’s about people. It’s about you.
And now, thanks to you, Ashtanga Dispatch has now grown into a global and inclusive community, bringing together teachers and students devoted to the practice of Ashtanga yoga, all eight of those limbs. Because while all that jumping around on our mats may look like it’s all for the bind … the catch … the crazy gymnastics – we know the stakes are so much higher every time we step onto our mat. Especially when the practice of Ashtanga yoga stirs in us our every fear, awakens monsters of insecurity and doubt, and tests our very limits of patience, forgiveness, and trust. This transformational work of learning and knowing our true Self is super hard work and why we are here, if only to reassure you: You are not alone.
So no matter what brought you, we’re glad you are here. Take some time and enjoy our online resources including a podcast series of one-on-one interviews with noted Ashtanga yoga teachers, our print edition of the Ashtanga Dispatch Magazine (with our second edition to be released this fall), and a wide array of blogs and anectdotal posts from writers dedicated to the Ashtanga yoga practice.
Make sure you don’t miss out on any upcoming podcasts or the upcoming release of the next Ashtanga Dispatch Magazine, please sign up for our monthly email. You see, we hope you’ll not only stick around a while but more importantly, help us continue to spread the message that we are not alone, that this yoga is for every body and everyone is welcome. Thanks again for dropping by and look forward to sharing a practice with you, perhaps even in person, sometime soon.

What’s the word?
I stumbled across the Dispatch somewhere on line at a time when I was (and still do) doubt myself in my practice and whether I have the staying power. I go for weeks sometimes without practice, too tired from raising a 7 and 5 year old and all that goes with it … Your passion and dedication to Ashtanga in your reachable and totally human way speaks to me on a naked truth best friend level that I wish we could just hang out!! You’re so honest and I relate to so much of what you share..that you …
